If blogging for your readers, you not only have to stop and think about them but you have to think about yourself.
You put a lot of time and effort into your site.
Do you want traffic for your site and for your blog posts to be shared?
Have you thought about:
• Making it easy for others to share your blog posts by installing share buttons – There are many social media sites. Among some of the most popular are Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter. You can do this, I know you can. You can have share buttons and make them visible on each blog post!
• Sharing your own blog posts on social media – You can do this too once you get your share buttons installed and get social media accounts for your blog! Don’t forget about Instagram, it’s very popular right now and although you can’t share directly from your blog posts via share buttons, you can display your posts onto Instagram – See mine here!
So, are you good to go with social media? What social share buttons do you have on your blog? Does your blog have social media accounts?
Part 2 – Pop-ups, ads, optimization, font, etc
Part 3 – Comments and conversations
Great tips Dee! I always forget about Instagram, thanks for the reminder!
You’re welcome Sylvia, can’t forget Instagram!
I have finally started posting on Instagram without my daughter’s help! I am so proud! Thanks for your encouragement, Dee.
You’re welcome Helen! Yay, good for you!
Hi Dee, An interesting and timely post. I have some personal SM. And I have been setting up separate SM connecting my blog and the topics I read. I had to wrap my mind around how a new FB page is actually linked to the existing personal FB page.(I am likely making it more confusing than it is:) Pinterest was nice and straight forward. I am learning how the hashtags are very important, yet I am still not too sure which hashtags to use? Always learning something new, which makes it all fun! 🙂 Erica
Yes Erica, with blogging it’s always something new to learn. I’m following you on Instagram, I need to look you up on your other sites.
Hi Dee, all good reminders! We need to be our own best supporters and share our posts across social media. I post to Instagram less than the other major sites but try to stay on top of all of them. I put the most effort in to Pinterest and F’bk as I get the most traffic from them.
Still so frustrated over here with the security warning via Chrome for my blog. Have determined that part of the issue is with 3 links embedded in my script by the gal who worked on my blog several years ago. But cannot get rid of the links. We found them but can’t ‘erase’ them.
Thought I was good to go on social media – silly me – until I did a theme update and my Pinterest got messed up. I am just so tired of these issues. Makes me wonder if it is all a sign that the world doesn’t need a blog by me!
NO Leslie, it is not a sign ♥ I know it’s aggravating but don’t give up. There has to be someone that can help you figure this out.
I wholeheartedly agree, Dee. I have social share buttons on my site for Facebook, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest. I have a Facebook page and Pinterest account specific to my blog. I share my Twitter and Instagram accounts for personal and blogging.
Thanks Christie ♥
Thanks for sharing these tips – sometimes we all need reminders (and a bit of help)! Looking forward to part 5 (I found you through Fiesta Friday).
You’re welcome Laurena and thank you for dropping by 🙂
I stop and ask myself this very question every time I feel like I am blogging into the void and wishing I were more popular or making actual money at blogging but I always end up realizing that I like where I am. Thanks so much for sharing at Encouraging Hearts and Home.
You’re welcome 🙂
It’s so important to publicise your work. These are great ideas, Dee. Thank you for being a part of the Hearth and Soul Link Party.
You’re welcome April!
