Auburn University or University of Alabama? We are NOT a house divided!
If you ever visit or travel through the state of Alabama, you will most definitely see fans of Auburn University and University of Alabama.
How can you tell they’re fans? You will see novelty tags on vehicles with War Eagle, Auburn Tigers, Bama, Roll Tide, Alabama Crimson Tide and so on. You will also see flags in yards and on houses as well as people wearing hats and t-shirts with the team logos.
The cities of Auburn and Tuscaloosa will be running over with football fans on every game day. Both universities have die-hard fans! This is unequivocally evident every November during the Iron Bowl game when the two teams play against each other. This rivalry game has been going on since 1893.
One thing you might see is merchandise with both Auburn and Alabama logos along with the words – “House Divided!” The most visible will be yard signs, flags, car tags, and front door wreaths or displays. These are for the unfortunate souls who fell in love with and sometimes married a non-Auburn or non-Alabama fan!
We don’t have a “House Divided” sign or flag. If we had one it would say – “We are NOT a House Divided!” Let me explain.

Hubby likes sports, any sports! If it has a ball that you bounce, kick, putt, throw, etc…then he likes to watch it on TV and go to the games, especially football games, and to be more exact – Auburn football!
Yes, he’s an Auburn Tigers fan living in Tuscaloosa! He can often be heard in town saying “War Eagle” to other Auburn fans or even out of state while traveling when we come upon Auburn fans. Contrary to what you might have heard, there are Auburn fans in Tuscaloosa! None in our neighborhood but yes they’re here in the city and county.
Back to the sign I need that says – “We are NOT a House Divided!” See, we can’t be as I don’t care for sports and don’t watch it on TV. Going to the stadium to watch Auburn football is the most boring thing ever! It doesn’t matter who they are playing against. The only time I’ve ever been eager to go to any sporting event is when my children and grandbabies were or are participating!
Going along with hubby to Auburn games is always a crazy atmosphere to see all the fans tailgating and being all excited before, during, and after the game. Thank goodness I have cell phone reception while in the stadium! At times I just stay in the motorhome and get me a good, long nap in while he’s at the game. Tailgating is not too bad either. Hubby always makes his famous soup or chili for those we tailgate with.
Not my cup of tea, you know? How about you, do you like to watch sports and go to games or are you like me?
