Visiting Walt Disney World with Your Grandbabies
Visiting Walt Disney World can be a wonderful time for everyone. Please realize that you can’t see everything in one day, not even if you start early and stay late. You’re there with the grandbabies to have fun and make memories. Don’t overdo yourself or them. Planning ahead is a must.

Here is a list that I thought would help with your visit. It is in no way complete but hopefully will help you with your destination plans:
• Get the free Disney Parks Vacation Planning Videos so you can sit down and view the magic with your grandbabies and plan your experience. The videos include a complete tour of the 4 theme parks, 2 water parks and over 20 resort hotels as well as affordable ways to play and stay
• Plan your visit during non-holidays if possible, it’s less crowded. The Disney Tourist Blog says that the least busiest times are mid-January thru early March (minus holiday weekends, Labor Day until early October, and early to mid-December
• Choose the theme park tickets that meet your budget
• Look into getting a FastPass+ for the things you and the grandbabies want to do and see most of all
• Get one of the several Disney World smartphone apps that let you know how long the lines are at specific attractions
• If it’s a must do for your grandbabies to see the Disney characters, plan a character meal so the children can see several characters without waiting in line. Or for character experiences, see here.
• Stay at a local hotel or at a Disney Resort.
• Getting your day started early is the best option. Try to arrive 30 minutes before opening time. See the park hours and calendars.
• It’s best to plan for a break around mid-day to avoid the hottest and busiest time, especially during the summer. Leaving the park will allow you and the children to rest for a while at your hotel or resort, and be able to return for evening and night activities such as parades and fireworks
• Pack a tote or backpack with snacks, sunscreen, wet wipes, rain ponchos, spray bottles with battery powered fans, camera and batteries or your smart phone with portable power source
• Rent a stroller or take your own if you’re taking toddlers to the park
• Dress everyone in comfortable clothes and shoes, you will be walking a lot so no flip flops
• Frequently asked questions can be found here.
