I’m participating in the Friday Fictioneers Photo Prompt hosted by Rochelle Wisoff using the garlic photo (© Dale Rogerson) with 100 words or less. I titled this: TOURING THE OLD CASTLE.
As we walked through the old castle, the tour guide’s voice faded in the background as I caught a glimpse of something. A bunch of garlic was hanging on a nearby wall with the leaves neatly tied in a braid.
Hmm…that’s odd. I know garlic needs to be cured after harvesting and hanging it in this manner is how it’s done but it looked fresh and I wondered why it was in the castle.
Noticing me lingering, the guide spoke up, “Come along now, let’s leave the garlic be so it can continue to ward off the vampires!”
