Pet peeve is defined as, according to Dictionary.com: a particular and often continual annoyance.

As a blogger, I follow other bloggers as well as attend link parties. It’s fun to connect with others and see what they’re blogging about.
There are some great blogs out there that I do not follow due to my frustration while trying to read the posts. I was constantly increasing the zoom to way over 100% just to be able to read a blog post on some sites, and that’s while using my desktop computer with an extra large, flat screen monitor. I never attempted such sites with my laptop or iPhone.
But no more! I refuse! Yes, I know that I’m no longer young and agile in body movements, as I’m now in my fifties, but my eyesight is about the same as when I was younger. So there you go – tiny, light-colored font is a BIG pet peeve of mine!
Please look at the image above. Is the text difficult to read? Can you see the tiny, light-colored font? Why do some bloggers use such hard to see fonts? Not only do some use such fonts but they use a fancy or cute font that is even harder to see than the examples I’ve used here. Sure, it looks pretty, but why have it look pretty when no one can see it? The examples were made with Arial font.
As I’ve noticed, it’s not an age thing with these bloggers. You’ll find hard to see text on sites from both young and older bloggers who use light-colored, tiny font. You’ll also see both young and older bloggers who use dark-colored font that is an easy size to see.
Please tell me if you use such hard to see font and please tell me why you use it. I’d love to know the reason.
Is this a pet peeve of yours too?
