Ready? Here’s the prompt: Who is that woman in the photo? Is it…
Now, here’s my version: THE OLD WOMAN IN THE PHOTO
Who is that woman in the photo? Is it me? Surely it can’t be me but then maybe it is me!
She kind of looks like me. The eyes seem the same. The mouth too! Yes, even the same nose.
WOW!
As Molly continued looking at the framed photo sitting on the dresser, she couldn’t help but be puzzled.
The woman was old. Years of living had aged her. Her youth appeared to be gone.
Molly looked toward the window for a moment, frowned, then looked back at the photo sitting there.
Maybe it is me…nah, can’t be…I’m not that old woman…I feel young and full of life!
Just as those thoughts passed through her mind, Molly picked up the hand mirror.
“Oh,” she gasped!
The same old woman in the photo was looking back at her in the mirror!
Molly realized it really was her in the photo! She was the old woman! She smiled. The woman in the mirror smiled back at her!
The end.
