This will be linked up at the WEDNESDAY WRITING PROMPT 11.
Ready? Here’s the prompt:
Write a story or poem using the word cabin with 350 words or less.
Now, here’s my version:
THE BEAR
It was the perfect vacation for us and the grandbabies. We stayed in a cabin by the river. Hubby and our grandson enjoyed fishing while the back porch hot tub was more to mine and our granddaughter’s liking.
We did some sightseeing and visited attractions that the children enjoyed, ate some good food at local restaurants, and ended each evening outside by the campfire star gazing as we roasted marshmallows. A couple of evenings we allowed the grandbabies a treat of those ever so sticky and gooey S’mores!
The highlight was when the children got to see a bear just casually strolling down the road one afternoon. Those two were so thrilled!! The bear stopped for a moment and looked at us as the children were squealing with delight! A moment was just enough though as it proceeded on its way as if it didn’t have a care in the world!!
Memories like this are so special and we have even more floating around in our brains to remind us of good times with those two precious children ♥
