As I’ve said before, I wish I could draw or paint. Having no talent in either one, I’ve recently been altering photos and images.
I really enjoy creating and experimenting with apps on my phone and software on my computer…but get ready for some good ole hand created images…well, with a little help!
Grammy just bought a new toy!!! The original Super Spirograph 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Design Set!
I know that I will enjoy playing with it as much as the grandbabies will.
The classic geometric drawing toy in its limited edition set comes with a carry along storage case with work surface. There are over 75 pieces including a metal die-cast #50 Spirograph wheel to commemorate the original Spirograph’s 50th Anniversary.
Here’s more info about it in the Super Spiro Guide. I’m not sure when this anniversary edition came out. The instructions and storage case both have the year 2014 on them and the video was uploaded 3 years ago. I can’t believe this might have been available for purchase in 2014 and I’m just now finding out about it!
Here’s old Spirograph commercials and the 50th edition set.
There’s only one thing that has me concerned. Instead of pins to hold down the rings, the set contains reusable Spiro-Putty. You’re instructed to use 4 pea-sized pieces on the undersides of the rings to hold them in place. I suppose they stopped using the pins for safety reasons. I may have to get out my push pins, not sure about the putty. We’ll see how it works.
So did you have a Spirograph way back when, do you want one now?
