This short story will be linked up at the WEDNESDAY WRITING PROMPT – BALLOONS 131 WORDS.
The children laughed and squealed. They were having so much fun!
Our morning started out with breakfast and as soon as it was over the grandbabies ran outside to play. What better to play with on a summer day in Alabama than water?
The sprinkler was an instant hit then they progressed to slipping and sliding on wet plastic.
After lunch I helped them load their water balloons. Oh, what joy! They even managed to splatter a few on their grandfather. I wasn’t on their radar and was spared.
That evening after supper they topped the day off with a short swim in the pool. By this time their little fingers were all shriveled looking. They didn’t care, they were having too much fun! And, it had been an awesome day!
