Here’s my story: STARGAZING
As the sun was beginning to set, I was starting to second guess our decision to sleep outside in the great outdoors!
It was a pretty spot with nature all around us and our vehicle was right behind the tent but yet I was feeling cautious.
My husband remarked that we had picked an awesome spot! I thought to myself, no dear you picked this spot that you think is awesome.
Darkness was upon us and it worried me. I’d rather be behind a locked door, even if that meant sleeping in our vehicle.
He had set up the tent and placed our sleeping bags inside and was all ready and waiting to stargaze with his new telescope.
He kept commenting on what a terrific evening it was with the sky being nice and clear, perfect for using the telescope which was now set up and ready to use.
Our lantern was extra bright and I wondered how long it would be until he turned it off. Just as that thought went through my mind, he walked over to where I sat with the light and switched it off.
Ah, I could now see the stars more clearly. It was an awesome sight but now with the light turned off I wondered what might be lurking in the darkness all around us.
After a few minutes of stargazing, I was done for the night. I left him outside with his new toy as I crawled inside the tent and inside the warmth of my sleeping bag. I soon drifted off to sleep.
I woke to find the bright lantern shining once again. Amazingly, I had slept soundly through the night.
My husband looked tired but happy. He’d spent the night outside in nature with the stars and his telescope.
He packed up the tent and I helped with our supplies. We left the campsite and drove into town for breakfast.
As we walked back to our vehicle after breakfast, I looked at his sleepy face and asked did he want me to drive home. He gladly accepted my offer and slept all the way to our house.
I was glad he had enjoyed himself and I was especially glad that nothing bad had happened during night.
