Did you know there was a National Buttered Corn Day?
It is observed annually on August 23.
You celebrate by eating corn with plenty of butter, on the cob or off the cob!
Corn can be boiled, roasted, or steamed and can be made on the stove top, in the oven, on a grill, or in a microwave.
Our fav way to cook it is on the grill. Hubby likes his grilled in the husk and then drowns it with butter and salt to eat it. Me, I prefer it grilled while wrapped in foil and scorched just a bit until it is slightly crunchy then just a bit of salt and no butter. I can’t imagine putting butter on it, it’s just too good without butter
(Note: After first publishing this in 2018, I have now given up adding salt to any food, so no more salt, not even on grilled corn).
How do you like your corn cooked? Do you prefer on the cob or off? And, what about butter…yes or no?
