Francis Scott Key (1779-1843) was an American lawyer who is best known for writing a poem which later became the lyrics of the national anthem for the United States. The initial verse of “The Star-Spangled Banner” was written by Key as he watched a large American flag waving over Baltimore’s Fort McHenry on September 14, 1814. The flag had been hung by American soldiers who had just withstood some 25 hours of British bombardment.
“The Star-Spangled Banner” officially became the national anthem in 1931 but before that it had been one of America’s most popular patriotic tunes for more than a century.
Madison Rising promotes American patriotism and they honor our veterans around the world. They’ve been referred to as the “most patriotic” rock band in the United States!
Listen to them in the video below to hear “The Star-Spangled Banner” in their rock rendition! If you’re a patriotic American and you like rock music, then you most likely will enjoy this version!
Note: This is not from their YT channel. I’ve noticed that their channel and website are no longer in service. Not sure what that’s all about but I still love their version of this song.
Did you enjoy this rock version?
