This will be linked up at the WEDNESDAY WRITING PROMPT 10.
Ready? Here’s the prompt:
Write a story or poem using the word button with 325 words or less.
Now, here’s my version:
I HAVE A BUTTON COLLECTION
I have a button collection
Stored in multiple jars
And in other containers
But certainly not in our cars
My buttons come in handy
When hubby loses one on his pants
I quickly sew on a new one
Like a busy little bee or ant
I’ve always created poems
Like this just from thin air
I’d amuse my children with them
As if it were a dare
Later on my grandbabies
Soon got to hear them too
At times they’d think they were foolish
Like I’m sure you also do
But I did it for fun
To make them laugh and smile
I was usually successful
If only for a while
Yes, this poem is silly
As you can plainly see
But it’s just having some fun
With myself and me
