Coloring Books – No Longer Just for Kids
Jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, now coloring books for adults. Have you joined in on the hottest trend?
Researchers and therapists have praised the calming benefits of adult coloring for over a decade.
They say that coloring offers some mental benefits. Coloring can possibly help reduce anxiety and stress. It seems to have a calming effect and helps you to unwind.
I know for myself, coloring with the grandbabies always seems so pleasant and fun, very relaxing.
Coloring books come in all sorts of themes: animals, birds, cars, designs and patterns, fish, flowers, holidays, houses, landscapes, quotes, seasons, tattoos, and words. You can even buy coloring books of Maxine, Aunty Acid, and Edgar Allan Poe. There seems to be a coloring book for everyone and every interest.
Not only are adults buying coloring books for themselves, they’re going beyond crayons and buying colored pencils, gel pens, and markers.
I really like the set of nursery pages I colored above as it reminds me of my grandbabies. Since I’m a grammy, I had to do it in two different colors, one for a boy and one for a girl.
The nursery page comes from my friend Darlene, a Canadian artist. She is so talented! You can get her pages to color with instant download at her Etsy shop or get her paperback coloring books at Amazon. Darlene’s website is here. This is her Facebook page and her Facebook group for adult coloring fun. Check out her video below.
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of coloring the nurseries. It was so fun and relaxing.
