QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR BLOG
NAME OF YOUR BLOG: GRACE FOR A GYPSY – AND JOY FOR THE JOURNEY
WHERE DO YOU LIVE: Our home base is in St Joseph, Missouri. We travel all over the country with my hubby’s work and live 95% of the time in our 5th wheel camper. Right now we are in Texas.
WHAT DO YOU WRITE ABOUT: God’s amazing grace. I also enjoy writing about the RV lifestyle and sharing stories about the places we visit. I am a chronic crafter, and a genealogist so I love writing about my favorite hobbies as well.
HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME FOR YOUR BLOG: I’m pretty sure I have a gypsy spirit, living a wonderful life because of God’s grace, thus the name Grace for a Gypsy!
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START BLOGGING: I have such an amazing life traveling with my husband, and I wanted to share some of the places we visit. I am so blessed and started writing my blog just to get it all out of my head and written down.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN BLOGGING: About 6 months.
WHAT DO YOU FIND MOST CHALLENGING OR FRUSTRATING ABOUT BLOGGING: Learning how to drive traffic to my blog.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU BLOG: When I started my blog last year, I was posting at least once a week, sometimes twice, but soon after I started my blog I had an accident which left me unable to sit at my computer and type. I was forced to stop for 6 months. I am just now getting back to it and am so excited to get my new posts published!
DO YOU PARTICIPATE IN LINK PARTIES: I think I would like to, although I don’t have a clue how they really work.
THE BEST THING ABOUT BLOGGING: I love sharing my stories.
QUESTIONS ABOUT YOU AS A GRANDMOTHER
WHAT DO YOUR GRANDCHILDREN CALL YOU: MawMaw, except that I have a 3 yr old grandson that insists on calling me MomMom!
HOW MANY GRANDCHILDREN DO YOU HAVE: I have 13 wonderfully perfect grandchildren!
HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET TO SEE YOUR GRANDCHILDREN: They are scattered in 3 states, and lucky for us, my hubby works in those 3 states often, so we never go more than a couple months without seeing some of them.
WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING A GRANDMOTHER: I love the fact that being a grandmother gives me a chance to do things better than I did as a parent! The older we get, the more we learn. When you know better, you do better!
QUESTIONS ABOUT YOU
MARRIED, SINGLE, DIVORCED, WIDOWED: Married to the love of my life.
HOW MANY CHILDREN DO YOU HAVE: I have 6 beautiful daughters.
DO YOU WORK OR ARE YOU RETIRED, WHAT IS OR WAS YOUR PROFESSION: I am blessed to be able to travel with my husband. I have had many jobs, but my favorite was running an embroidery dept at an athletic apparel store. My formal education was in food management. I managed kitchens in schools, hospitals, nursing homes, and a prison. I also have owned 2 restaurants and a burger shop.
WHAT IS THE BEST AND WORST THING ABOUT GETTING OLDER: I love my age right now. I have earned the right to slow down a little and do some fun things for myself, like blogging, and painting. The worst thing is realizing that physically, some things are a little more difficult than they used to be. I would love to play softball, but I’m pretty sure at this age, I am allergic to running!
WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY: 1) My family makes me happy. 2) Creating, painting, crafting makes me happy. 3) Writing about grace makes me happy.
WHAT 3 WORDS BEST DESCRIBE YOU: Sincere, spiritual, optimistic.
WHAT ARE 3 INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT YOU: I can stop you from sneezing thru the power of suggestion. Try me, I can. Really. Ask my family. They hate it. I am obsessed with using DNA to help find lost people. I am a Search Angel and a genetic genealogist helping adult adoptees, birth parents, and estranged family members find their lost loved ones. I have taken part in 28 adoptee/birth family reunions. DNA is useful for finding lost living relatives as well as our ancestors. I love to create. I create lots of things. My mind never shuts up, it whirls and twirls endlessly, creating in my head until I am too tired to actually create. My supplies runneth over, as do my ideas. I especially love making pretties out of brokenness. Broken shells, broken jewelry, broken stuff. There is beauty in brokenness. It’s been in my head for a long time.
HOBBIES: I love to paint. I love to look for missing people, living, and ancestors. I love making jewelry.

FAV COLD DRINK: Diet Pepsi
FAV FOOD: Spaghetti
FAV AROMA: Citrus, grapefruit, or sweet orange essential oils
FAV PERFUME: Yves Saint Laurent *rive gauche*
FAV AUTHOR: Gwen Bristow, born 1902 from New Orleans. She wrote mostly historical novels.
FAV MUSIC: I love most genres of music. I especially enjoy listening to Christian Praise and Worship songs. I do switch it up with a little country and a lot of oldies from the 50s and 60s. I am a die-hard Elvis fan, so I can listen to him anytime I can.
FAV TV SHOW: Fictional shows – the Chicago Med, Chicago PD, and Chicago Fire Series. Non-fictional – Long Lost Family.
FAV TV SHOW WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD: When I was a teenager I loved Unsolved Mysteries.

DO YOU HAVE A TALENT: I am pretty good at finding lost people. And I paint a little.
