QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR BLOG
NAME OF YOUR BLOG: NANCY ON THE HOME FRONT – LEARNING TO LIVE A HEALTHIER LIFE ONE STEP AT A TIME
SOCIAL MEDIA: Facebook • Instagram • Pinterest • Twitter
WHERE DO YOU LIVE: I live in the beautiful state of Vermont in a very small town called Bridgewater.
WHAT DO YOU WRITE ABOUT: When I first started I was writing about life on the home front, which included frugal tips, keeping a pantry, gardening tips and of course recipes. Once a week I am one of the co-hosts of the Simple Homestead Blog Hop where folks share their posts on homemaking, homesteading and homeschooling. Our home is currently on the market so we’ve gotten rid of our chickens, cut back on the gardens and we are using up what’s in the pantry not stocking up! I’m kind of in a transition and I’m not sure how the focus will change once we move!
HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME FOR YOUR BLOG: When I first started blogging I was hired by a company called Prudent Living, they were involved in solar power, energy efficient homes, etc. and wanted someone to write a blog about “Prudent Living at Home” thus Prudent Living on the Home Front was born. Eventually I went off on my own and changed the name to Nancy on the Home Front. My focus is my life at home and learning to be frugal one day at a time.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START BLOGGING: I first started blogging as a job and enjoyed it so much I continued blogging even after I no longer worked for Prudent Living.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN BLOGGING: My first blog post was on September 19, 2011, six years ago!!
WHAT DO YOU FIND MOST CHALLENGING OR FRUSTRATING ABOUT BLOGGING: Currently the most challenging aspect of my blog is dealing with my Webmaster! I’m in the process of finding someone new to host my blog. Other than that keeping on top of all the numbers can be challenging.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU BLOG: I blog 3-5 times a week. I was being very consistent about blogging five times a week but this summer I’ve cut back.
DO YOU PARTICIPATE IN LINK PARTIES: Yes, I participate in link parties and am a co-host for a party every Thursday!
THE BEST THING ABOUT BLOGGING: The absolute best thing is the other bloggers I have met! They are so encouraging and helpful.
