QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR BLOG
NAME OF YOUR BLOG: STONE COTTAGE ADVENTURES – WELCOME TO OUR ONE ACRE FARM
SOCIAL MEDIA: Bloglovin’
WHERE DO YOU LIVE: We live in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas.
WHAT DO YOU WRITE ABOUT: When I first began blogging, I actually had a plan. There would be four cornerstones for my writing – gardening, sewing, recipes, and crafts. This little website began with those pages listed at the top. Blank pages at the time. My very first post? Our family’s recipe for Sweet Tea. From there, this crazy thing has evolved into whatever we happen to be doing on this humble piece of earth we like to call a One Acre Farm. Pages have been added for Books, Herbs and My Ozarks. They are filled with all kinds of silly shenanigans. I keep thinking about adding pages for Pets and Grandchildren. We’ll see…
HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME FOR YOUR BLOG: I love old rock structures and wanted to reference our home.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START BLOGGING: Three friends mentioned I should blog all in the same week, so I followed their advice.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN BLOGGING: I began writing posts in 2011, but did not start promoting the website for about six months.
WHAT DO YOU FIND MOST CHALLENGING OR FRUSTRATING ABOUT BLOGGING: Since I have a full time job besides blogging, time management can be a struggle. I would like to be more savvy about the tech tricks that make blogging easier.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU BLOG: I co-host link parties on Mondays and Tuesdays. After that, my readers can expect to see 2-3 more posts per week.
DO YOU PARTICIPATE IN LINK PARTIES: Yes! Please join me on Mondays and Tuesdays for the ones I co-host. While you are there, please list your party in the comments, so I can visit yours!
THE BEST THING ABOUT BLOGGING: This humble little spot in cyberspace has evolved into a record of the people, places and activities that bring me joy. I never dreamed it would give me friendships around the world. Connecting with other bloggers is my website’s greatest gift to me. For that, I am most grateful.
QUESTIONS ABOUT YOU AS A GRANDMOTHER
WHAT DO YOUR GRANDCHILDREN CALL YOU: Nonna
HOW MANY GRANDCHILDREN DO YOU HAVE: The number fluctuates. Let me explain. Our daughter and son-in-law have four biological children and they are also foster parents. We grandparent any child that comes into our family the very best we know how. We also like to claim the cutie pie next door as one of ours.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET TO SEE YOUR GRANDCHILDREN: At least every other week.
WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING A GRANDMOTHER: Every time I see them, they steal my heart all over again.
QUESTIONS ABOUT YOU
MARRIED, SINGLE, DIVORCED, WIDOWED: We’ve been married for 31 years.
HOW MANY CHILDREN DO YOU HAVE: Two, one daughter and one son.
DO YOU WORK OR ARE YOU RETIRED, WHAT IS OR WAS YOUR PROFESSION: My full time job (beside blogging) is in sales with an industrial supply company.
WHAT ARE 3 INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT YOU: I am sort of ambidextrous. My hands are not equal though. When I try something new, I have to figure out which hand can do it best. For example, I throw footballs and softballs with my right hand, but throw darts with my left hand.
HOBBIES: Too many! Maybe I should just refer you to my blog, Stone Cottage Adventures!
PETS: Currently, we share our “empty” nest with five dogs, one cat, nine rabbits and fourteen chickens. We call our property a One Acre Farm, but maybe it should be a One Acre Zoo?
FAV ICE CREAM: We have Dairy Queen in our area. I love their Salted Caramel Truffle Blizzards.
FAV COLD DRINK: Sweet Tea
FAV FOOD: Down home Southern cooking.
FAV AROMA: Most of my days end with a hot bath and a glass of wine. I frequently add lavender and/or bergamot to the water. Those are my favorite essential oils either alone or together.
FAV AUTHOR: I love reading. My favorite genre is Autobiographies & Biographies followed closely by Historical Fiction.
FAV MUSIC: All of it. On different days I am in the mood for different kinds, but I love all of it.
WERE YOU A GIRLY GIRL OR A TOMBOY AS A CHILD: A mix of both.
SPRING, SUMMER, FALL, OR WINTER: Being a gardener, I get most lonely for spring.
DO YOU HAVE A TALENT: I can whistle very loudly.
EARLY BIRD OR NIGHT OWL: Early
MOVIES OR BOOKS: Books
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO TELL US: Thank you for including me. I am so glad we met thru blogging!
