BLOGGING GRANDMOTHERS SERIES 3 WITH SONJA FROM HOLD MAMA’S HAND
The 7th blogging grandmother to be featured in the Blogging Grandmothers Series 3 is Sonja.
NAME OF YOUR BLOG: HOLD MAMA’S HAND
WHAT MAKES YOU SMILE: My grandsons, my children, my chickens, my dogs..so many things!
YOUR FAV SNACK: Cherry tomatoes, and blueberries straight out of my garden.
WHAT QUOTE APPEALS TO YOU MORE THAN ANY OTHER: “My second favorite household chore is ironing. My first being hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint.” Erma Bombeck. (Erma is my hero, and a real inspiration for my own blog).
FUNNY OR SCARY MOVIE: Always funny.
POOL, LAKE, OCEAN, OR NONE: Lake. I grew up next to a lake, and we have a seasonal pond in our front yard.
DO YOU MONETIZE YOUR BLOG: No, but hope to use it to sell the books I hope to write some day.
HOW DID YOU MEET YOUR SPOUSE OR PARTNER: I was a charge nurse in Coronary Care, he was a student nurse. We went out even though I was fighting a tummy bug… he cooked me soup and made me put my feet up. His last name is Anderson, and (on our very first date) I told him I could never marry him, as MY last name was also Anderson, and I wanted something shorter. He told me I could keep Anderson and like it. Our fathers are both Robert Laverne Anderson (different men, same exact name). We were engaged 9 DAYS later. This year is our 30th anniversary.
HOW LONG DO YOU PLAN ON BLOGGING: Until the words stop clamoring to come out of my fingers.
FAV TYPE OF MUSIC: Praise and worship, plus a healthy dose of 1980s pop.
DOGS OR CATS: YES, plus zebra finches and canaries.
ARE YOU AFRAID TO BE ALONE IN YOUR HOUSE: Not at all, I look forward to being alone.
DO YOU HAVE ANY RECURRING DREAMS OR NIGHTMARES: No. I dream very vividly, and cannot watch the news any more because of it.
YOUR EARLIEST MEMORY: Riding my tricycle, eating an apple, and having my tooth come out, so I was about four or five.
DO YOU HAVE A BUCKET LIST? IF SO, WHAT ARE THE TOP 5 THINGS ON IT: Raise ducks, use up my entire fabric stash, write a children’s book, write a book about marriage, and write up my grandmother’s diaries.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SAY: I keep thinking my busy life will end my blogging career, and it has come close a few times…but then I get an idea and the writing starts back up again. I love this opportunity to connect with other grandmother bloggers, and hope to get to know all of you better as much as hoping you will get to know me.
