BLOGGING GRANDMOTHERS SERIES 3 WITH CHRISTIE FROM SO WHAT? NOW WHAT?
The 16th blogging grandmother to be featured in the Blogging Grandmothers Series 3 is Christie.
NAME OF YOUR BLOG: SO WHAT? NOW WHAT?
SOCIAL MEDIA: Facebook • Instagram • Pinterest • Twitter
WHAT MAKES YOU SMILE: My grandchildren — always. Also, music, good books, sunshine, the ocean, and mountains.
YOUR FAV SNACK: This is a tough one. I do love food. If I’m in the mood for salt, almonds or chips and guacamole are a favorite. When it comes to sweets, I love almost any baked good (peanut butter and chocolate or pumpkin are favorites).
WHAT QUOTE APPEALS TO YOU MORE THAN ANY OTHER: I can’t choose one that appeals to me more than any other, but this is a good one: Kindness is in our power, even when fondness is not. ~Mark Twain
FUNNY OR SCARY MOVIE: Definitely funny.
POOL, LAKE, OCEAN, OR NONE: I love all three, but the ocean wins!
DO YOU MONETIZE YOUR BLOG: Not now. I would consider it in the future.
HOW DID YOU MEET YOUR SPOUSE OR PARTNER: We used to work together and had a common friend there. We were actually both going through divorces at the time. Our relationship started out as a support group of sorts. We became best friends and then partners.
HOW LONG DO YOU PLAN ON BLOGGING: Right now, I’d say forever, but of course, technology, culture, and personal circumstances change over time, so we’ll see!
FAV TYPE OF MUSIC: I like an eclectic mix of music. It depends on my mood in the moment. I have my radio set to a station that plays music from the 70s and 80s.
DOGS OR CATS: I like both, but I’d have to say dogs. We have a sweet old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Charlie.
IF PAST LIVES ARE REAL, WHAT WAS YOURS: Perhaps a singer or an artist—at least those are talents I wish I had now.
ARE YOU AFRAID TO BE ALONE IN YOUR HOUSE: Not at all.
DO YOU HAVE ANY RECURRING DREAMS OR NIGHTMARES: Sometimes I have dreams that I am waiting a long time for an appointment and being ignored. I get very frustrated, but no one listens to me. Hmmm…what does that mean?
YOUR EARLIEST MEMORY: I remember one Christmas getting a cute animal-shaped pajama bag and a matching nightgown. I must have been four or five years old. I also remember my kindergarten teacher—a kind, beautiful young woman that I thought had a man’s name (Mrs. Stephens, if I recall).
DO YOU HAVE A BUCKET LIST? IF SO, WHAT ARE THE TOP 5 THINGS ON IT: I don’t have a formal lifetime bucket list, but I do want to travel–visit all 50 states and then Australia, Italy, and Ireland. I’ve been creating seasonal bucket lists for a couple of years now. My spring list includes (among other things) start training for a 10K, open up Hawkes Landing (our cabin) for the year, finish my novel, and take all the children and grandchildren to Mazatlan for a beach house vacation!
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SAY: I have loved so much getting to know my fellow bloggers. This is such a welcoming community. The connections I’ve made here have been a delightful surprise. Thank you Dee for the Blogging Grandmothers Series.
