BLOGGING GRANDMOTHERS SERIES 2 WITH VICTORIA FROM CHITTER CHATTER WITH A MOTHER AND DAUGHTER
The 5th blogging grandmother to be featured for the Blogging Grandmothers Series 2 is Victoria.
NAME OF YOUR BLOG: CHITTER CHATTER WITH A MOTHER AND DAUGHTER
WHAT IS YOUR FAV SAYING: Every day on this side of the grass is a good day.
WHAT IS THE MOST UNUSUAL THING IN YOUR WALLET OR PURSE: Not unusual but I carry three pairs of glasses in my purse reading glasses, clear driving glasses and sun driving glasses.
DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF: I would never think to not untie my shoes when taking them off. lol
DOES WISDOM COME WITH AGE: I think wisdom does come with age but not sure I always use it.
WHAT IS ONE THING THAT DRIVES YOU CRAZY: It depends on what kind of mood I am in as to what drives me crazy. I am working on not letting peoples bad driving habits drive me up a wall. But it does drive me crazy when someone almost hits me while talking/texting, so many times people try to park or make a corner but are on their phone and swerve wrong and go into the wrong lane or my path.
WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD, WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP: I wanted to be an airline stewardess, which is not a flight attendant.
WHAT IS ONE THING YOU REALLY LIKE ABOUT YOURSELF: That I can talk to almost anyone about pretty much anything.
DO YOU HAVE A GREEN THUMB: No I have the brownest thumb there can be.
HAVE YOU GONE THRU MENOPAUSE? IF SO, WAS IT HARD TO DEAL WITH: I went through menopause about 20 yrs ago. I was 47. It was terrible and I found out I had Hashimoto’s thyroiditis at the same time so I had a rough couple of years.
IF YOU COULD CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE: I am not sure I would change anything. I have worked long and hard on being who I am and other than my weight I am pretty happy with me.
WHO IS THE ONE PERSON WHO HAS HAD THE GREATEST IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE AND WHY: All of the women in my family. I couldn’t pick just one. We were a family of women my brother was the only male in a long line women. The women in my family were all strong and independent and anything they couldn’t do on their own was not worth mentioning.
COULD YOU TAKE A VACATION AWAY FROM ALL TECHNOLOGY AND IF SO FOR HOW LONG: I know I can take a break. We have been on a two-week cruise before with no phone or internet access.
DO YOU KNIT, CROCHET, OR QUILT: I can crochet. I haven’t done it in years but I have made loads of different afghans, for some reason that is all I have ever made.
IF YOU WERE STRANDED ON A TROPICAL ISLAND, WHAT 3 ITEMS WOULD YOU WANT TO HAVE WITH YOU: Moisturizer, a knife and my husband
ARE YOU EMBRACING OR FIGHTING GRAY HAIR: I am embracing my gray. I had kept my hair blonde for years and last fall I made up my mind that in January I would start transitioning to gray. I had my hair weaved with gray twice then decided to stop spending the money and let it gray on its own. I love it, the hair around my face is more white than gray and I love the look.
IF YOU HAD A TIME MACHINE AND COULD USE IT ONLY ONCE, WOULD YOU VISIT THE FUTURE OR THE PAST AND WHY: Not interested in visiting the past or the future. I can’t think of any reason to visit either.
DO YOU BELIEVE IN EXTRATERRESTRIALS: Not at all.
IF A MOVIE WAS MADE OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT ACTRESS WOULD YOU WANT TO PLAY YOU? WOULD THE MOVIE BE AN ACTION FILM, COMEDY, DRAMA, HORROR, ROMANCE, OR SCI-FI: It would be a comedy and I would be played by Melissa McCarthy.
HOW OLD DO YOU FEEL: I forget my age most of the time because I still feel young like I’m in my 40s. Of course I know there are those who don’t look at their 40s as young. lol
WHAT ADVICE WILL YOU OR HAVE YOU GIVEN TO YOUR 18 YEAR OLD GRANDCHILD/GRANDCHILDREN WHEN THEY GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL: Live life to the fullest. Don’t be in a hurry, your twenties can be the best years of your life so slow down and enjoy them. I have four granddaughters who are in their late teens and early twenties and I always tell them to have fun and live life to its fullest.
