10 QUESTIONS ABOUT PATRIOTISM FOR JULY 2020
I’m linking up with Leslie from Once Upon a Time and Happily Ever After for 10 Questions About Patriotism for July 2020.
1 – When is your country’s birthday? It is observed on July 4 every year in the USA, the day the Continental Congress approved the final wording of the Declaration of Independence after declaring independence on July 2, 1776.
2- What are your country’s patriotic colors? Red, white, and blue in the USA. These colors symbolize valor, bravery, purity, innocence, vigilance, perseverance, and justice. And as I like to say – “Home of the free because of the brave!”
3 – Do you wear those colors on Independence Day or your nation’s birthday? Yes.
4 – Do you fly a flag at your home? Do you decorate for Independence Day? Yes and yes.
5 – How do you feel about wearing the flag? Taking a USA flag and turning it into a piece of clothing, no! Wearing clothes with our USA flag image on them, yes!
6 – How do you celebrate your country’s birthday? We have a cookout with ribs, chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, corn on the cob, apple pie, ice cream, and watermelon among other food items. This might be at the beach (my fav) or at a state park. The day always includes swimming and playing in the water. As it starts getting dark, everyone enjoys sparklers until it’s time for the fireworks show to light up the night sky!
7 – What is your favorite patriotic song? Right now it’s this one – INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH A ROCK RENDITION OF “THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER” as I think it is so patriotic!!
8 – Do you visit the cemetery for Memorial or Veteran’s Day? Any family members in the military? Yes and yes.
9 – How do you vote: absentee, early or on the day of? Day of.
10 – What is your favorite patriotic holiday food? Don’t know if it qualifies as patriotic but from our cookout menu my choice would be potato salad and watermelon.
How would you answer these questions?
